Holo TEXTING !!!!

This shit is just tooooooo fly....If u dont have an iphone and you have been hating on it, this will change your mind.....

In the spirit of Princess Leah’s S.O.S. to Obi Wan, designer Inha Luke Yoo wants to visually redefine the way we send text messages. For his entry into Google’s “MobileTricks” contest, he submitted a video of his HoloText concept, which allows you to actually see the person who is texting you in hologram form. In addition to having a visual of who’s messaging you in real time, users will also be able to save holo-texts that contain important information and reminders. Judging from the prototype video, Yoo seems to be focused on making the technology iPhone capable first. peep the video of this amazing shit in action !!!!

HOT PINK DeLorean and Computer Club!!!!

Hot Pink Delorean and Computer Club will be appearing at Shock Therapy this month, and due to me being part of the company, this is gonna be rammed down your throat !!!!! heres a little infor on the team !!!

Picture walking into a packed nightclub; the air is thick and smells of booze, the people are sweaty, the women are scantily clad and everyone has one hand in the air while the other gropes the person next to them. Three men clothed in hot pink and covered in platinum bling are on stage surrounded by sexy hot pink female gogo dancers bouncing to the beat. Massive kick drums push the low end of the sound system while ripping guitarlike synths tear through the high end as one of the men onstage MCs and controls the dripping sexed up mob destroying the dance floor. You have just experienced a second of a Hot Pink DeLorean performance.

Hot Pink DeLorean was formed in October of 2007, when Chris, Matt & Jon, members of the drum & bass group, Terravita, decided to make an electro tune with their good friend, TJ, otherwise known as Fantastadon. The song created that night was “Played Out”. None of the members knew the fate that awaited them. “Played Out” made its way to Aleks, the owner of the infamous German blog, Discodust. (discodust. blogspot. com) Aleks wanted to post the tune, so Chris, Matt & Jon, picked a name and went back in the studio to make some more electro. They emerged a few days later with their booty shaking anthem, “Badonkadonk” and a remix of “Boyz” by M.I.A. All three songs were posted on Discodust and piggyback posted on countless other blogs within the week. All three members of Hot Pink DeLorean were immediately swamped with phone calls the following weekend from their friends telling them their tunes were dropped in clubs all over the planet. The boys, knowing they were sitting on something huge, returned to the studio immediately and produced the tunes “Freak Night” and “Aeroplane”. Both tunes were received as well as the first batch. “Freak Night” found itself being caned by huge acts like the Bloody Beetroots and “Aeroplane” was featured on Annie Mac’s show on BBC1.

With such amazing success on the blogs, Hot Pink DeLorean received many offers for official remixes. After carefully choosing, they decided on tunes from breaks producers, Mephisto Odyssey, indy rock band, Hail Social, and electro act, the Glass. The remix of the Glass’s “Mad at You” is out now on Plant Recordings. The remix of Hail Social’s “No Paradise” is out now on the Hail Social record label. The “Bump This” remix for Mephisto Odyssey is pending release.

Since then Hot Pink DeLorean has been touring their DJ/MC act around the US and has a European tour in the works for the fall. They have also completed 4 new original tunes that are awaiting remixes, from Kap10Kurt and several other artists that remain unnamed at this date. The tunes will then be released as four singles on Hot Pink DeLorean’s own label. The group has also completed a remix of Fantastadon’s blog anthem “Anesthesiologist” and a remix of the Victorian English Gentleman’s Club’s tune “La Mer”.

Hot Pink DeLorean continues to get love from all over the world on the internet and have been featured on all of the top electro blogs (ie. Iheartcomix, Big Stereo, Discodust). The group also has some big things going on in the studio and with video game, TV & music licensing, but the details of this are considered “top secret”.

The members of Hot Pink DeLorean also continue to release drum & bass under the name Terravita on the Technique recordings label out of the UK.

Straight outta Birmingham, Alabama, COMPUTER CLUB makes brilliant electro tracks of giant proportions (so your playlist better make a lot of room). COMPUTER CLUB is alias of one Mike Diasio, better known as Gigantor, of Atlanta-based drum’n'bass group, Evol Intent. After Evol Intent established itself as one of America’s premier drum’n'bass talents, its three members have been making departures: First Evol Intent’s A.J. rechristened himself as Treasure Fingers and y’all have been shaking it across the dancefloor since. Next Evol Intent’s Knick embarked on a “Bangfest” with a friend, Rochester’s Kill The Noise, in Ludachrist (Big Stereo will put you up on Ludachrist, if you aren’t knowing). Lastly, Evol Intent’s Gigantor breaks apart to form COMPUTER CLUB.

A portion of the nights proceeds will be donated to a Breast Cancer Foundation.

Wolverine and the X-Men

Back in the mid-’90s, the Fox’s original X-Men cartoon dominated Saturday mornings. Now, after three blockbuster live action movies and an animated series about the mutants as teenagers (X-Men: Evolution), it looks like the entire franchise is shifting its focus towards Wolverine. The X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie comes out next May, the first issue of the Old Man Logan comic just dropped, and now Nickelodeon is preparing their new series Wolverine And The X-Men. Im not a fan of putting the rest of the team on the back burning and focusing on good ol Logan, but the show looks to have promise so i fucks with it. The show won’t debut until next Spring, Marvel announced that they will be debuting the pilot at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Peep out the trailers below !!!

GUY RITCHE'S ROCK N ROLLA

For most artists, topping your early work is always the biggest challenge. Nobody knows this struggle better than director Guy Ritchie, who hasn’t been able to catch a break since marrying Madonna and releasing his international hit Snatch in 2000. But after watching the trailer for his upcoming heist flick RocknRolla, it looks as if he might be getting his swagger back. The film revolves around a crew of London criminals—led by 300’s Gerard Butler—who scramble for a piece of the pie in a Russian mobster’s real estate scam. Also appearing in the film are Thandie Newton, Jeremy Piven, Idris Elba and Ludacris. The movie comes out on October 31 in the U.S., so watch the first trailer here !!!!!

Just Add Water.....moped

So i download about 20 movies I've never heard of a week. some are good and some are bad. about a week ago i downloaded his jawn called Just Add Water. Its a great movie, but i swear it is the most depressing movie ever, I mean if u cant feel good about your own life after watching it, then u got problems. heres the breakdown....

A hysterical and eccentric film overflowing with universal themes of human predicament and resolve, Just Add Water delivers the story of a decent but subdued man, Ray Tuckby. Ray is just getting by in life, day by day, in the once idyllic turned crime infested, dead-end town of Trona, CA. He could have had a better life, but decided to stay in Trona in order to remain near the unrequited love of his youth. One day a stranger arrives and encourages Ray to follow his dreams. As Ray begins to dream again, he gains the courage to shed the parasites in his life, musters up the nerve to pursue his childhood love and joins forces with his friends to confront the town thugs that are preventing Trona from returning to its former splendor. While inspired and filmed in an actual small American town, this film speaks to the hope embedded in all of us...Flixster

Cali is For Street Wear O.Gs....COMMISSARY

Streetwear’s O.G.’s are often seen, but rarely heard. From stores to parties, they’re everywhere that makes up “the scene.” But few give their brand a voice as loud as streetwear icon Andrew Lee does as the owner of clothing line invisible:man and retail chain Commissary.

Though the Brooklyn native is always opinionated, he prefers to let his bold BMX/skate/heavy metal inspired clothing do the bragging for him. Lee opened his first Tokyo flagship in 2001, and is now based in California with two more stores under his belt—one in San Diego, the other in Orange County (pictured above). In addition to invisible:man, Commissary carries brands like Original Fake, Bounty Hunter, and Acapulco Gold. We caught up with Andrew Lee to talk about his stores and get his take on the the influence of online shopping on today’s retail business. Read the quick interview below.

On what to look for at Commissary…
“I feature the best brands available and now some BMX goodness: Verde bikes, Brooklyn Machine Works, and had a few Sub’s. I’ve been working with Medicom toys and SAG bags and stock absolutely no wack bullshit filler.”

On what distinguishes his projects…
“As always, current events and a cup of go fuck yourself. I slowed i:m down to focus on Commissary stores and a bar and gallery. I’m always working on bettering yet maintaining a original outlook and idea so I’m not one of those brands that makes the same shit, same style, year after year. Which I feel sets me apart from the copycat and snoozer brands that cover the pages of magazines and blogs, I have some self respect—these others apparently do not.”

On launching invisible:man…
“I started invisible:man in 1999 looking for some way to vocalize my opinions and things i thought were interesting. It’s been up and down and huge and shit, it’s all good—the brand has a life all its own. Invisible:man consistently gets emails and offers and such but I don’t want to do the brand 100 mph. Instead I’ll take my time and have fun with it, preserving its longevity. Plus it’s just me doing it solo, and I’m pretty much the laziest person you’ll ever encounter. I’ll make a full 30 piece cut and sew season, then next season make six T-shirts. It depends on my energy level and attention span which are now wrapped up in the new gallery/bar project.”

On the state of the retail market…
“NYC is LOCKED. Supreme, Union, Clientele, EMG, what the hell am I gonna do? I would rather continue to sell at and support Union, that’s where you guys should all be buying your stuff—in the shops. Fuck the online faggotry stores. Why support them? What have they done for you? Nothing but take your damn money, while all these real stores lay the groundwork and educate everyone on what’s good. Buy gear at Union, walk over to Supreme and get the goods, cross the street to Clientele for some damn shoes, then hit Jerry’s for that B.L.T. Support real shops, they are the hard workers and made this shit what it is. Stay off the Webmalls. Get outside, shoot the shit with real live humans, check out some fine ass Puerto Rican girls, drink a beer in a bag…Remember what that was like? Remember leaving your apartment?”

.....I remember, but it was more like Crown and Purple out of a sippy-cup looking at a fly ass hipster chick.....

Home Room Spring 08

Aside from being all around good people, San Francisco's HomeRoom( shouts to all the home room gang, Alex, Gian) has made their mark in the industry via a great cut & sew program. Mixing this concept with their fun visual tees, the 2008 spring/summer collection brings another solid range of apparel. Some of the pieces seen here include the a nylon "wet look" windbreaker, zip-up sweater, button-up, t-shirts and 5-panel caps. Available now at homeroomstore.com.

Flashing Lights 3

Whats a better Trilogy then The Matrix and Star Wars...hmmmmm Flashing Lights maybe.....

Let's have small recap here just to see if you're keeping up (yes students there will be a test on this later). Kanye West drops his highly anticipated third album "Graduation" amidst an ingenious giant marketing campaign pitting him against 50 cent. Kanye walks away victorious in the record sales race and his new album is highly praised by critics as a successful mesh of infectious pop, soul full hip hop and a healthy dose of electro. One of the standout tracks on the album is "Flashing Lights". The song combines soft melody with hard electronic kicks and snares as Kanye cryptically raps about the pitfalls of materialism and the trappings of fame. Because this was obviously going to be a surefire single, almost immediately fans began to discuss what they think the video will look like down to the director he may choose.

However, when the Spike Jonze directed video was released in all of its lingerie clad, Rita G slow motion glory (thank you Spike) the short clip baffled some fans and was lauded by others as a masterpiece. Version 2 of the video leaked on the internet about a week ago and was much more literal then the first version. The video showed another model obviously deeply intertwined in the night life and the danger and tragedy that can come from it. Just a few days ago, yet another version of the video was leaked on the internet and seems to be frustrating and delighting fans equally. This version seems to have no connection with the other two videos and appears to be a cinematic cross between a horror film and high fashion couture add. As far as storyline goes, it's hard to make rhyme or reason of it but we don't mind watching again and again.---HypeBeast

Stress Video

After the vibrant, artsy look of their last two videos D.A.N.C.E. and DVNO, Parisian electronica duo Justice take a decidedly different direction with their newest video for their throbbing synth banger “Stress.” The Romain-Gavrasdirected clip, which recently premiered on Kanye West’s blog, follows a group of young delinquents (all rocking Justice’s cross logo on their jackets) as they rage through the streets, fighting pedestrians, destroying carsand generally causing mayhem. Sounds like Grand Theft Auto meetsStanley Kubrick’A Clockwork Orange. In other words, this shit is straight gangster. Brace yourself for the destruction.

The Sound and Fury event which took place last week in Matsuyama, Japan, was where Jun Takahashi (Undercover) showed off his skills not only as a fashion designer but as a master of the needle and thread. At the exhibition, he created bizarre looking creatures using regular stuff animals as his ingredients. Music was provided by DJ's such as Hikaru from Bounty Hunter. Do you know Momofuku Ando ?

If you survived college by eating nothing but ramen noodles, then it’s about time you paid tribute to a great man named Momofuku Ando. 50 years ago, this Japanese businessman created the very first Chicken Ramen, and the world has been devouring his instant creation ever since.

Yesterday in Osaka, Japanese dignitaries gathered at the World Instant Noodle Summit for the unveiling of a new statue depicting Momofuku Ando, which was erected outside Nissin’s Instant Ramen Museum

Holly Gas Mask Mr.Vuitton

okay everyone, when the world ends in a big bang of nuclear holocaust the sky will be set on fire and the oxygen wont be safe to breath. So why don't you take proper precautions and grab one of these sexy numbers....

Bring on the pollutants and harmful toxins—these Diddo Velema, Gucci and Louis Vuitton collaborative gas-masks are going to make fashionistas want to inhale stuff that’ll kill them. The high-fashioned monogrammed, and diamond encrusted headwear was debuted by Velema at the 2008 Luxury Show in Bucharest, Romania and seem to be reserved for the filthy-rich hypochondriacs. Chemical warfare? No biggie, we’re dyin’ in style. Check close-up shots of the masks after the jump.

TAKASHI = BAD ASS

NY///OPENING NITE WITH TAKASHI MURAKAMI AT THE BROOKLYN MUSEUM…

Kanye realizes he’s a champion in their eyes…

Following the long run of Japanese Pop Art power player TAKASHI MURAKAMI’s retrospective “© Murakami,” show in Los Angeles, the massive retrospective picked up and relocated to the BROOKLYN MUSEUM where the exhibit’s star-studded opening charity gala was held last nite. Supertouch buddy, director DAVID LAM was on hand to take in the spectacle firsthand, including the highlight of the evening, a performance by Supertouch ally KANYE WEST to an adoring crowd, including fashionista Marc Jacobs who queued up for a closer look at Kanye’s performance like a rabid teenager. Adding a bit of tongue-in-cheek irony to this stop was the inclusion of a mini-exhibition of fake Murakami Louis Vuitton merchandise to playfully contrast the onsite LV boutique (which, once again, kicked none of its profits back to the museum) selling very real and very expensive merchandise to the housewives of New York City. HAVE A LOOK:

Over at WWD we came across some interesting information about the opening of the Takashi Murakami exhibition that we previewed here already. Aside from presenting a new Monogramouflage pattern developed by the artist, the message behind the pattern is also quite special.

"Tonight, Vuitton is celebrating Takashi Murakami's "© Murakami" exhibition with a "Brooklyn Ball" at the Brooklyn Museum featuring a special performance by Kanye West, the unveiling of a new camouflage print developed by Murakami and Marc Jacobs called Monogramouflage and a special installation designed to bring attention to one of the industry's biggest travails — counterfeits.

But rather than simply hand out leaflets to alert guests about the importance of protecting original designs, the French luxury goods house will be taking a novel, somewhat intriguing route. Outside the museum, Vuitton is setting up 10 New York-style street vendors — not to sell fakes, but rather authentic Louis Vuitton product and special Monogramouflage canvases that Murakami has created specifically for the exhibition."

If you can make it out there and get one of those Monogramouflage canvas, you can be sure it's a good investment! Hopefully they will be using the pattern on leather goods as well.

Woody VS AMERICAN APPAREL

Woody Allen Takes On American Apparel

woodyallen-ad.jpg
Woody Allen Ad Photo: Boris Fishman

Pencil-necked cradle-robber/once genius filmmaker Woody Allen is tight over thisAmerican Apparel ad from 2007, and is suing the brightly-colored hipster shopping haven for over $10 million dollars. According to the Dow Jones, Allen claims the billboards featuring him dressed as a rabbi (taken from a scene in Annie Hall) were used without his permission. Allen’s legal team also said that the billboards not only were displayed in prime spots in NYC and L.A but also on AA’s website and partner sites. We’re thinking American Apparel should’ve just went withMatisyahu—we hear he comes much cheaper. Remember the non-Hasidic Woody after the jump with one of our favorite scenes from Annie Hall. Everyone go download Annie Hall now....

The Listenerd points us to this fantastic XXL interview with rapper DMX that covers many topics, including the presidential election. A felon, DMX can’t vote, so he’s not paying too much attention to the process.

FUTURE REMOTE !!!! I Want 2 (plus a fatal bazooka)

We can just barely remember when remote controls were still attached to the TV by a wire. But aside from the wireless innovation, the old ’mote has remained pretty boring, despite being a central part of our lives.

Well now, Joris van Gelder’s B&O Remote is finally taking the next leap. Not only is it wireless, but it’s touchless, responding mostly to simple hand gestures. The idea was to design a remote for sticky-fingered kitchen use, but we could be looking at the future of channel surfing in any room.

Takashi....oh shit

Takashi Murakami has made his name thoroughly known throughout the art world and when his art speaks, people listen. Murakami will be holding a comprehensive retrospective exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum on April 5th. According to the museum, “The exhibition © MURAKAMI explores the self-reflexive nature of Murakami’s oeuvre by focusing on earlier work produced between 1992 and 2000 in which the artist attempts to explore his own reality…” Be sure to check it out.
